MEET THE CREATORS!

Margarita Marti (author)

Margarita Marti is an elementary school teacher. She has been working at Cyprus’ public schools since 2009. She graduated from the University of Cyprus in 2007. She holds a Master of Creative Arts in Education (Visual arts) from the University of Exeter. She loves fantasy art, cats, gummy bears, and learning.
She has Brachial Plexus Injury since birth and severe scoliosis which led to other issues. She thinks that one of the most defining moments in her life was when she learned at 18 that she could die at any moment if she didn't have surgery. Her world shattered and for a year she wasn't able to sleep. She found peace in painting. She has a strong interest in the process of creativity and likes trying out new stuff with her students.

Reviews

This book shares an important message-that we're all unique and special in our own way. The story is about four children who each have their own challenges. Christine has lost her hair because of a disease, Billy has trouble learning things, Jimmy uses a wheelchair, and Alice has different interests than some of her friends. Eventually, they come together and discover some important things about each other. Teachers, children and families will find this book enjoyable and valuable. I recommend it. The story will help children to have healthy self-esteem.
